Asha House

Children's Home
Asha House is a home for the neglected and abandoned, outcasts and rejected children of India. Since opening its doors in March of 2007, Asha House has welcomed more than thirty children into its family. The children come from the streets, slums, villages, and brothels. These children were in extremely vulnerable situations as 25% of approximately 2.3 million sex workers in India are minors, there are lower estimates of 200,000 people that are trafficked in India every year, and official Indian statistics put the total number of child workers at 11 million full-time and 10 million part-time.

Once they are taken in, every child is provided with food, clothing, education, and lots of loving care. Asha House is not an Institution, and it is not an orphanage; it is a family. Victor and Simini, a national Indian Couple, have committed their lives and opened their hearts to provide Hope for the children of India.

Lifestyle
Asha House practices individual love with a holistic approach.

  • Each child is assigned to a "family-group" consisting of five to ten children with one "house-parent."
  • Each child receives individual attention and help with school work.
  • Each child is responsible for his or her own household chores.
  • All the children partake in meals and prayer together "family style."
  • All the children receive equal and quality medical care and education.
