Sixty1 is partnering with Transitions Global in Cambodia. Transitions Global, formerly Transitions Cambodia, Inc. was founded by James and Athena Pond, who have been actively working with trafficking survivors since 2004, providing innovative care and restoration to survivors of sex trafficking. Sixty1 is currently raising funds to start a new aftercare facility in Cambodia underneath the guidance of Transitions Global and following their successful model, Transitional Living Center (TLC). The word “transitions” in Khmer means “crossing over from one place to another.” We will work with our girls to help them discover themselves, explore their possibilities, and begin the process of crossing from a place of hurt, exploitation and abuse to a place of healing and new life. Sixty1’s goal using TLC is to successfully help our clients breach the chasm from victim to survivor, becoming healthy, independent adults. TLC is a safe, home like environment for Cambodian and Vietnamese survivors of sex trafficking, exploitation, and abuse. What makes this program unique is our belief that our girls can achieve anything once they remember how to dream. Our focus is on providing 21st century job skills that create sustainable incomes and stable futures. At the TLC girls receive:
TLC’s are set up in apartment-style buildings and focus on giving girls a transitional step in adapting to the complexity of independent adult living. Benefits of the Transitional Living Center
Program time averages one year, with two years of follow up.
